Frequently Asked Questions

Is 6 yards big enough for a bathroom and kitchen clearance together?

Yes — a 6 yard skip holds 50-60 bin bags and is well suited to clearing a bathroom and kitchen in a single hire. It handles combined strip-outs of units, tiles, suites, flooring and fixtures without issue. For larger homes or if you are adding a garage clear at the same time, consider an 8 yard skip.

Do I need a permit for a 6 yard skip?

No permit is needed if the skip is on your private driveway or land. If it must go on the public road, a permit costs £50–80 — we handle the application with your local council when you book.

How long can I keep a 6 yard skip?

Standard hire is 7 days. Extended 14-day hire is available for a small additional fee. If your project runs over, just call us — we will arrange an extension rather than an additional delivery charge where possible.

What can't I put in a 6 yard skip?

All our skips prohibit: asbestos, tyres, paint (unless fully dry), batteries, fridges/freezers, WEEE electrical items, fluorescent tubes and hazardous waste. Most renovation materials including plasterboard, timber, bricks, tiles and light rubble are accepted.
