What is Grab Hire?
A grab hire service remove large volumes of waste from various construction or landscaping projects workplace. The grab Lorries are a convenient, low cost alternative to other waste removal methods. Specially designed with accessibility in mind, a grab lorry uses a hydraulic grab arm and bucket to collect and clear away large quantities of waste from otherwise inaccessible areas.
Hiring a grab truck in Southall, Hayes, Twickenham, Hounslow, Brentford and West Draytoncomes with a few extra features and services.First, each truck comes with a qualified driver who takes full responsibility for loading and removing your waste. Its removal service is on wheels (a choice of 4 or 8 wheels depending on the size of the waste). And lastly, a grab truck comes with a giant hydraulic arm.
What Types of Waste Can Grab Lorries Remove?
The exceptional accessibility of grab Lorries means they can pick up waste materials in some of the most hard-to-reach areas. Examples of the types of waste grab Lorries can remove include:
- Soil
- Muck
- General rubbish
- Green waste: garden waste, such as grass or flower cuttings, hedge trimmings

Skip Hire or Grab Hire – Which is better for What Kind of Job?
Both grab hire and skip hire remove waste from domestic and commercial sites safely and efficiently. Whilst grab Lorries specialize in removing large quantities of waste, the varying skip sizes available means you will easily find the perfect waste removal solution, whatever the scale of your project.
In addition to having a large capacity to hold waste, grab Lorries are also very agile vehicles, popular for their accessibility in otherwise unreachable places. As such, all of your waste can be removed from the roadside, with no need for permits.
It’s worth noting that accessibility may be more of an issue with skip hire, as a permit is usually required to keep the skip on the road, which can have varying approval times. Therefore, skips are usually better suited for locations where there is plenty of space to store them on site, rather than keeping them out on the road.
The Grab lorry needs at least 12ft in width for access. Also consider if there are any cables or low hanging trees over the area which the lorry will need to go as they need at least 6.5m in headroom to operate the crane. If access to site is off a single track road or if you are unsure about having sufficient side loading space, please call for advice or to arrange a visit to the site.
